Professions in the world. Doctors dedicate years and years of their lives to studying this, which is one of the most important sciences of humanity.
In entrance exams across Brazil, Medicine is always the most Special Data popular course. Thousands of students try for many years to enter medical school. But what is the role of the Doctor? Well, this is what Resolution No. 1627/2001 of the Federal Council of Medicine, which became Bill No. 25/2002, authored by former senator Geraldo Althoff (PFL/SC) tries to define. The project, called the “Medical Act”, attempts to regulate the Doctor’s profession, establishing limits on the fields of work of professionals from different areas of health.
Furthermore, according to the Medical Act, doctors want to prevent the illegal practice of Medicine and the prescription of medicines by non-medical professionals. The doctors' speech is in favor of the social importance of the profession, their professional space and the tranquility of society.
What the Medical Act regulates is that only doctors should have the power to diagnose illnesses and indicate therapeutic treatments. All procedures to prevent the occurrence of a disease, its evolution and also the patient's disability (as well as their rehabilitation) are, according to the Act, exclusive acts of the medical professional.
That is, to consult a psychologist, for example, the patient will first have to see a psychiatrist.

The discussion around this is that other health professionals felt aggrieved by the Act. They defend the idea that health is a space in which there are multiple contributions from countless professionals and, to disregard such contributions is to deny great achievements of science. Professionals also state that, with the Act, doctors will always have the power not to refer the patient to a physiotherapist or speech therapist, for example, directly prescribing medication.
The Federal Regional Councils against the Medical Act are: Biology, Biomedicine, Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Nutrition, Dentistry, Psychology and Social Work.
